Barnett K.O.SCO:BORD: -War & Victory Medal -WWI Death Plaque William Barnett Original Buckingham Palace note and photograph of him in uniform (both laminated) With Commonwealth War Graves Commission research. Lance Corporal William Johnson Barnett 18112 D. company 1st Battalion Kings Own Scottish Borderers. Killed in action 25th August 1915 aged 35 and commemorated on the Helles Memorial. He was the son of Thomas and Fanny Barnett and the husband of Elizabeth Barnett of 44 Rugby Street, Wolverhampton. His medal index card shows he entered the Balkans Theatre of War 30th June 1915 and he took part in the Sulva Bay assault on 21st August being killed in action shortly after. The Kings Own Scottish Borders took heavy casualties in this assault. Condition as shown in photographs

Thompson K.O.SCO:BORD: -War & Victory Medal named as above -Death Plaque named Andrew Thompson with original card envelope Copy paperwork confirming he served for the 1st 4th Battalion Kings Own Scottish Borderers entering the Balkans theatre 4th of June 1915 He was killed in action on 12th July 1915 aged 21, Gallipoli and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial. He was the son of John and Elizabeth Thompson of Carter House, Camptown, Jedburgh. On 12th July 1915 one final attempt was made by the 52nd Lowland division (of which the Kings Own Scottish Borderers were part of) to break through the Turkish lines at Helles. The plan was to attack towards Krithia along Achi Baba Nullah and the attack took place in four waves at 7.35AM. The 1st 4th Battalion took very heavy casualties of 535 men that day. Nichol Robertson of the 1st 4th Battalion wrote after the action 'And of course the Turks could concentrate everything they had on one small sector. The Turks were on the defensive and we just got everything they could possibly lay into us. We were ordered to take three lines of trenches and when we got to the first, there was another practically obliterated and there was no such thing as a third line so we ended up right out in the open and were out-flanked on either side by the Turks.' Accompanied by original named medal boxes and registered envelope. Condition as shown in photographs

He was the son of John and Margaret Murdoch of Cathcart and the husband of Dora Simpson Murdoch of 14 Garry St. Cathcart, Glasgow. Commemorated at Becourt Military Cemetery, Becordel-Becourt. Confirmed on the roll of Honour of Citizens of Glasgow who died in the Great War. The Battalion suffered 15 killed in action on that date. Condition as shown in photographs
