Victoria Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal to the Coast Guard

Narrow suspender. Named WM. Agland Boatn H.M. Coast Guard

William Agland was born on 13th September 1867 in the fishing village of Beer, East Devon. He commenced his naval service as a boy 2nd class on Impregnable on 1st February 1883 with service no. 122253. He transferred to the Coast Guard on 21st March 1896 and was awarded his Long Service Medal 23rd January 1901. He continued to serve with the Coast Guard until his discharge in March 1919. He spent the Great War serving at home and is entitled to a British War Medal.
