Egypt 1882 Pair Manchester Regiment

Egypt 1882 no bar, 1882 date on reverse 2089 Pte. G. Masters 2nd manchr regt. Khedive Star 1882- unnamed as issued George Masters was born in 1858 in Bloxwich, Staffordshire. He enlisted in the Manchester regiment 7th May 1879. He was 5ft. 5" tall and gave his trade as a 'Slater'. He served in Malta and was posted to Egypt August 1882 with his regiment serving for 62 days in the Egyptian Campaign being awarded the Egypt Campaign medal 1882 no clasps and the Khedive Star. He then served in the East Indies for a period of just over 7 years. Arriving back in England on 7th November 1889 and discharged having served a total of 10 years and 183 days. Royal Marine Light Infantry Star unnamed as issued Condition as shown in photographs Henry was born on 28th December 1855 at Hitchen, Herts and enlisted on 16th August 1873 at Westminster into the Chatham division. Medal confirmed on his service papers (see attached for full details).

Egypt Medal 1882 Clasp Alexandria 11th July (dated on reverse 1882) W Tovey Pte. RM H.M.S. Beacon. Awarded to those actually present at the bombardment of Alexandria 11th July 1882. 82 clasps were awarded to H.M.S. Beacon. Condition as shown in photographs Service papers show William was born 27th April 1856 at Bath, Somerset and first enlisted 27th May 1874 into the Portsmouth Division Royal Marines. His Egypt Medal and clasp are confirmed on his service documents. See full service sheet attached.

Dean RA -WWII Defence Medal -Civil Defence Long Service Medal- unnamed as issued, in original case -Selection of original badges for his ARP and Civil Defence Service -Original Certificate of Transfer to Reserve document, Certificate of Heavy Artillery Training, Protection Certificate and Certificate of Identity. -Original letter from the Commanding Officer confirming his mention in dispatches whilst serving with the Salonica Forces. -WWII Defence Medal Certificate -Certificate for Issue of the Civil Defence Long Service Medal -Original letter for the MID reads as follows 'In the field, the 17/2/1919 addressed to W.G Dean, 19 Mill Street, Plymouth- Dear Sir, I have much pleasure in informing you that your son, number 81775 L. Bdr. Dean W.G. has had the honour of being mentioned by General Milne, the GOC of the Salonica Forces in his dispatches for Conspicuous Bravery in the Field 14th/15th June 1918. On behalf of the Officers and men of this Battery, I offer you my heart-felt congratulations. W.S. Rought, Captain Commanding 196 Heavy Battery RGA.' Very unusual to have the original MID letter from his Commanding Officer together with a good selection of other documentation, portrait photos and badges. He saw service in the First World War, Second World War and the Cold War. (All as shown in photographs) Condition as shown in photographs
