-1914 Star with August/November clasp 9108 SJT. D.Fraser 1/Gord. HIGHRS -War Medal and Victory Medal SJT. D.Fraser Gordons -Death plaque named Daniel Fraser With copy research including Commonwealth War Graves and copy photo of War Memorial. Daniel Fraser was born Abbotshall, Fifeshire and enlisted at Kirkcaldy. He was killed in action 12th October 1914. On the 12th October the first Gordon Highlanders were ordered to seize the bridge over the Lawe at Fosse, the enemy was found to be holding not only the bridge, but houses in Fosse on the far side and a wood close by. He was one of 7 members of the Battalion killed in action in this operation. He is commemorated at the Vielle-Chapelle New Military Cemetery, Lacouture. An opportunity to add a Sergeant's early WWI casualty to your collection. Condition as shown in photographs

Crimea 1854-56 1 clasp Sebastopol Captn. Alfred Henry Waldy 46th Regt. 18th May 1855 Hunt and Roskell contemporary engraved naming, the date neatly added by a different hand but in the same style to commemorate the fact the medal was personally presented to the recipient by HM Queen Victoria on horse guards on that date. The regiment was awarded a Sebastopol battle honour for the Crimean Campaign. Original ribbon and remnants of Top silver brooch bar. Condition as shown in photographs- minor edge bruising, very fine and worn ribbon.

Lt Commander C. Callaghan RN -Africa General Sevice Medal 1902 Clasp Somaliland 1902-04 SUB Lieut C. Callaghan RN H.M.S Naiad -1914-15 Star named Lt Commander -War Medal Lt Commander -Victory Medal Lt Commander MID -Royal Humane Society Medal Lieut C. Callaghan RN April 1st 1904 complete with bronze ribbon buckle but lacking pin. (unsuccessful) Medals with original ribbons Africa General Service attached, WWI Medals detached Callaghan Lt Commander Cyril. He was appointed SUB-Lt in H.M.S Naiad in 1903 and was specially promoted for services with the disembarkation of the Somaliland expedition as Lt Commander. He commanded the Destroyer H.M.S Attack in Admiral Beatty's off the Dogger Bank 1915. Sir David Beatty wrote in his dispatch (London Gazette 3rd March 1915) "The good seamanship of Lt Commander Cyril Callaghan H.M.S Attack in placing his vessel alongside H.M.S Lion and subsequently H.M.S Princess Royal enabled the transfer of flag to be made in the shortest possible time." He also commanded H.M.S Attack at the chase and distraction of the German submarine U12 off the Firth of Forth 10th March 1915 when he received the letter on Vellum expressing the approbation of the admiralty for his services in these operations. (The Naval Whose Who 1917 refers). RHS Case number 33159 on 1st April 1904 W. A Edwards in passing from the Pinnace to H.M.S Kent in Sheerness fell into the river and was soon carried 200 yards astern by the tide. Then Lt Callaghan and McGowan jumped in and rescued him. Divisional Officer Sidney John James Beasley -Order of St John Officers silver & enamel Star -1939-45 Star -Atlantic Star -Africa Star, clasp North Africa 1942-43 -War medal -Long Service medal of the Order of St John with 3 additional clasps Star and WWII medals unnamed Long service Medal named div-off Sidney J.J. Beasley Warwick 1948. Mr Beasley joined the Foleshill and Longford St Johns Ambulance Division in 1935. He held many posts including Assistant County Secretary for Warwickshire and Secretary of the Coventry Centre in 1969. He served with the Royal Navy during WWII as a sick-berth attendant on H.M.S. Formidable as a leading LSBA. With 2 folders of original photographs and certificates making it an excellent addition to any collection. Hood Mounted as worn With copy service papers and family ancestry searches. Sydney Alfred Rickard was bron in Oxford 20th September 1893, he joined the Royal Navy as a boy 2nd class on 9th May 1911. He served on H.M.S. Fox from 11th April 1912 to 28th October 1915 and was advanced to Able Seaman on 2nd November 1913. He saw further service afloat during the Great War on H.M.S. Berwick from 17th June 1916 to 31st July 1917 and was promoted to Leading Seaman 1st November 1916. He served on H.M.S. Restless from 31st January 1918 to the end of the war. He was posted to H.M.S. Hood on 7th January 1926 and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal that year on 17th November serving on the Hood. Condition as shown in photographs, contact marks and pitting, generally good
