About 3000 clasps were awarded for the Manipur Expedition. The small state of Manipur adjoining Assam & Burma possessed a small army but relied on the British for protection against attacks from the Burmese. The 4th Bn. The King’s Royal Rifle Corps served with the Tamu Column and 433 medals with this clasp were awarded to the regiment.
