-Distinguished Flying Medal George VI named 1121144 F/SGT T. W. Carr RAF. -1939-45 Star (unnamed as issued) -Aircrew Europe Star with clasp France & Germany (unnamed as issued) -Defence Medal (unnamed as issued) -War Medal (unnamed as issued) Mounted for wear. Accompanied by an extensive archive of original maps, instruction manuals, one of his log books and photographs. A comprehensive collection of his RAF WWII service. Thomas William Carr was born on 8th October 1918 in Grangetown, Sunderland. He was educated at Commercial Road School and then Sunderland Technical College. He joined the RAF on 30th October 1940. On 7th December 19142 he was posted to 44 Air School Grahamstown, South Africa for training. Further training and posting followed until his first operational flight shown in his log book to Kassel with 12 Squadron 22nd October 1943. He went on to fly 33 operational sorties and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal. The citation for his award reads as follows: 'CARR, Thomas William. 1121144 Flight Sergeant, 626 Squadron. London Gazette 15th August 1944 sorties 23, flying hours 162. Air Bomber, Air2/9632. Flight Sergeant Carr is an Air Bomber who has completed 23 successful operational sorties against the enemy on some of the most heavily defended targets in Germany. He has participated in 7 attacks on Berlin as well as the important targets of Leipzig, Magdeburg, Nuremberg and Essen. During all his operations Flight Sergeant Carr has shown himself to be a most competent and conscientious member of Air Crew displaying a high degree of courage in the face of heavy enemy opposition. His coolness and strong sense of duty have in a large measure contributed to the successful completion of operations. I have no hesitation in recommending the award of the Distinguished Flying Medal to this N.C.O.' Remarks by his Station Commander 10th May 1944. Condition as shown in photographs

Medal group of 5 -1914-15 Star, War Medal, Victory Medal named L1648 E.G.FOX OS1. RN. -WWII Defence Medal (unnamed as issued) -Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal George V Admiral's uniform. Named L1648 E.G.FOX OS1. H.M.S. VICTORY Accompanied by miniatures: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal with clasps for North Sea 1914, North Sea 1915, North Sea 1916, Jutland 31st May 1916, North Sea 1917, North Sea 1918, Victory Medal, WWII Defence Medal, Naval Long Service & Good Conduct Medal George VI issue (all unnamed as issued). Both sets mounted as worn. Accompanied by some original correspondence and his 'Retinue Pass' when attached to R.H.R. The Prince of Wales Tour. Ernest George Fox was born on 24th November 1890 at Norwich, Norfolk. On joining the Royal Navy at the age of 20, he was described on his service papers as being 5 ft. 5" tall, light brown hair, blue eyes. He gave his trade of that of a 'Footman' and became an Officer's Steward. During his career in the Royal Navy, his character was always marked as 'very good'. As he gained experience as an Officer's Steward, he was appointed to Senior Officer's who later achieved 'Flag rank'. He is listed as serving on H.M.S. Marlborough at the Battle of Jutland 31st May 1916 but was transferred at sea to H.M.S. Royal Oak the following day, 1st June 1916. In April 1919 he signed a 'Temporary Service Agreement' and was attached to the Royal Australian Navy until September 1921. He was then officially attached to the Retinue of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales during his 8 month tour of India, Japan and the Far East between 1921-22. He was awarded his Long Service Medal whilst serving on H.M.S. Victory and was awarded the Defence Medal for his WWII service. Accompanied by a folder of research, copy service details and some correspondence with some of the Officers he had served with. 3 original dinner menus from H.M.S. Marlborough 1915-16 and an original letter from the Private Secretary to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales after his tour of India, Japan and the Far East. Clearly he served with a number of Senior Officers as their Steward and was highly regarded. He was present at the Battle of Jutland and for the Prince of Wales' Far East tour after WWI. It's unusual to find an attributed miniature group with clasps and with original correspondence. Condition as shown in photographs

In original Royal Mint box- confirmed by family that this was awarded to him in the 1964 Birthday Honours list for services in Hong Kong supplying mains water to Red China to the colony.

The Queen's Birthday Honours 1964 were appointments in many of the Commonwealth realms of Queen Elizabeth II to various orders and honours to reward and highlight good works by citizens of those countries. The appointments were made to celebrate the official birthday of The Queen. They were announced on 13 June 1964 for the United Kingdom,Australia, New Zealand, Sierra Leone and Jamaica. The recipients of honours are displayed here as they were styled before their new honour, and arranged by honour, with classes (Knight, Knight Grand Cross, etc.) and then divisions (Military, Civil, etc.) as appropriate.

Queens South Africa 1 clasp Relief of Ladysmith Mounted for wear- unnamed as issued Attributed to Lieutenant Commander Herbert Seymour Webb Boldero Royal Navy who was mentioned "for his fine actions with the Naval guns of 'Terrible' at the Battle of Colenso" Herbert was born on 29th August 1882 and entered Britannia Royal Naval College as a Cadet in January 1897 ranked as 'Midshipman' July 1898. During the Boer War he was landed with H.M.S Terrible and served at the Battle of Colenso and was mentioned for his services at the Relief of Ladysmith. Further noted being for early promotion. His commanding officer Lieutenant F.C.A. Ogilvy highlighted him for carrying messages between the guns at Colenso. Unfortunately he was invalided from 'Terrible' as a result of 'Mental Disease' in March 1900 however was passed fit to serve again on 24th September 1900 and served until March 1907 when again he was invalided as a result of 'Disease of the Nervous System'. He was advanced Lieutenant Commander retired in February 1910 and died 29th May 1940. Condition as shown in photographs
