Apprentice Samuel David Jenkins, Merchant Navy -1939-45 Star -Atlantic Star -Africa Star -Pacific Star -War Medal All unofficially named 21-12-40, 4-3-43 S.D. Jenkins S.S. Marietta E Mariette E was built for the Leath Hill Shipping Company of 7628 tonnes. On a voyage from New York and Durban to Alexandria was torpedoed and sunk by a submarine on 4th March 1943 soon after leaving Durban. 9 of her crew were lost including Jenkins. Samuel was born 24th March 1924 and lived at 112 Putney Road, Hanesworth, Birmingham. At 0:3:46 hrs on 4th March 1943, German U-Boat 160 fired 2 torpedoes at the convoy DN-21 North East of East London and hit 2 ships including the Marietta E. Commemorated on the Tower Hill memorial. With extensive copy research. Condition as shown in photographs

Miniatures Attributed to Colonel Charles Childs Clarke M.V.O, O.B.E. Royal Marine Light Infantry -Royal Victorian Order M.V.O. Member 4th Class -The most Excellent Order of the British Empire O.B.E. (Military) Officer's 1st type -Egypt Medal 1882-89. 1882 dated reverse -WWI British War Medal -Khedive Star 1884- swing mounted as worn On a Spink & Son pin clasp With research including copied portrait photographs and service details Charles Childs Clarke 1861-1934 joined the Royal Marines in 1879 and served in the Egyptian Expedition. He was promoted to Captain in 1889 and Major 1897. He commanded the Marine Detachment aboard H.M.S. Ophir during the visit to the colonies by H.R.H. The Duke & Duchess of Cornwall in 1901. As a result of this tour he was created an M.V.O. He was placed on half-pay in 1902 and was appointed the Barrack Master at Deal. He received his O.B.E. for duties ashore in 1901. Condition as shown in photographs

Walsh Devon Regt. -Death Plaque named William Joseph Walsh With Commonwealth War Graves paperwork confirming killed in action 6th October 1916, commemorated on the Loos memorial Medal Index card confirming medal entitlement William was born in Plymouth, he had previous service with the Militia and was probably killed in action on a raid on the German trenches opposite Essex Lane on 6th October 1916 when the Devons sustained 40 casualties having been caught by machine gun fire. Condition as shown in photographs
