Ministry of Transport medal certificate. 2 Board of Trade Continuous Certificate of Discharge books showing he was born 11th October 1914, Edinburgh. British citizen. First showing C. engagement 4th April 1940 rated as Ship’s Cook, Steward and Chief Steward. Sailing from Leith, Glasgow, Manchester, Dundee, Aberdeen etc. Various ships throughout WWII and post war. First booklet completed 5th May 1952. His home address was listed as 47 Montrose Terrace, Abbey Hill, Edinburgh, Scotland. Second booklet shows service until 1972, finishing with a rank of Catering Officer. This with visa for Dakar and the CCCP (Soviet Union).

Accompanied by an extensive research file in addition to the 2 Board of Trade booklets.
