John Murdoch served with the 16th Battalion Highland Light Infantry and was killed in action 27th March 1916 aged 37. He was the son of John and Margaret Murdoch of Cathcart and the husband of Dora Simpson Murdoch of 14 Garry St. Cathcart, Glasgow. Commemorated at Becourt Military Cemetery, Becordel-Becourt.
Confirmed on the roll of Honour of Citizens of Glasgow who died in the Great War. The Battalion suffered 15 killed in action on that date.
