He served for B-company 1st Bn Kings Own Scottish Borderers and was killed in action 21st July 1916 aged 20 yrs old and is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial. He was the son of H.G. and Elizabeth Marshall of Hargrave Park, Upper Holloway, London.
