The 1st Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry (Prince Albert’s) served in Malaya from 1952-1955 during the Malayan Emergency. Their deployment focused on counter-insurgency operations against communist terrorists (CTs) in the dense jungle terrain of the Malay Peninsula.
