Queen's Sudan Medal 1896-98 4226 Pte. J. Covell 1st Northumberland Fusiliers Court style mounted for display. Several small edge knocks, otherwise very fine. With copy service documents. James Covell of Newcastle on Tyne joined the Northumberland Fusiliers in 1894 having seen previous service in the 3rd militia Bn. of the same Regt. He was with the Fusiliers in the Sudan Expedition and the Occupation of Crete 1898 as well as in South Africa from 1899-1902. Additionally entitled to a Khedive Sudan Medal with Clasp for Khartoum and a Queen's South Africa 4 Clasp Medal along with a 2 Clasp King's South Africa. He was discharged at his own request in 1906.

John Neil Private 46th Regiment. 6.30pm on 21st May 1868 at Pembroke Dock, William John Forsyth fell into the water, John Neil jumped into the sea fully clothed and rescued the child.
