With copy research including Commonwealth War Graves and copy photo of War Memorial.

Daniel Fraser was born Abbotshall, Fifeshire and enlisted at Kirkcaldy. He was killed in action 12th October 1914. On the 12th October the first Gordon Highlanders were ordered to seize the bridge over the Lawe at Fosse, the enemy was found to be holding not only the bridge, but houses in Fosse on the far side and a wood close by. He was one of 7 members of the Battalion killed in action in this operation. He is commemorated at the Vielle-Chapelle New Military Cemetery, Lacouture.
