Attributed Miniature Queens South Africa Medal to a Naval Officer

Queens South Africa 1 clasp Relief of Ladysmith Mounted for wear- unnamed as issued Attributed to Lieutenant Commander Herbert Seymour Webb Boldero Royal Navy who was mentioned "for his fine actions with the Naval guns of 'Terrible' at the Battle of Colenso" Herbert was born on 29th August 1882 and entered Britannia Royal Naval College as a Cadet in January 1897 ranked as 'Midshipman' July 1898. During the Boer War he was landed with H.M.S Terrible and served at the Battle of Colenso and was mentioned for his services at the Relief of Ladysmith. Further noted being for early promotion. His commanding officer Lieutenant F.C.A. Ogilvy highlighted him for carrying messages between the guns at Colenso. Unfortunately he was invalided from 'Terrible' as a result of 'Mental Disease' in March 1900 however was passed fit to serve again on 24th September 1900 and served until March 1907 when again he was invalided as a result of 'Disease of the Nervous System'. He was advanced Lieutenant Commander retired in February 1910 and died 29th May 1940. Condition as shown in photographs

The chocolate contents are complete and as issued with much of the foil wrapping still present. The chocolate contained in this tin is Cadbury’s branded and you can make out the familiar Cadbury’s logo through the foil wrapper.  Condition as shown in photographs

John Neil Private 46th Regiment. 6.30pm on 21st May 1868 at Pembroke Dock, William John Forsyth fell into the water, John Neil jumped into the sea fully clothed and rescued the child. He was awarded the bronze medal for this action. Condition as shown in photographs
